While King Thief is onstage the floor before them is a forest of arms, fists pumping like pistons to their infectious rhythms, voices singing along with that of Brooks Bracken, King Thief's dynamic impresario. A self taught pianist and jack-of-all-trades musician, Bracken pens the group's lyrics. He left his place at the keys to interact with the group's audience; longtime pal Nevada Alpine Kent (truly his name) assumed the job; "Al" has also incorporated organ and lush vocal harmonies. Louis Wall, King Thief's classically trained percussionist who did a stint in a youth orchestra, lays solid beats on drums; together he and bassist Jon Hill create a formidable rhythm section. Guitarist Sam Hill completes the group with his inovative playing style that is more about sweeping melodies and textures than traditional rock riffs, though he doesn't shy away from tasty licks when they're called for.
