Cameron Matthews has been making some noise around the St. Louis area. His recent rash of constant playing and advertising around Saint Louis University has made him a popular musical personality on campus. Playing everywhere around town from dive bar mantra's Creepy Crawl to his home base of the Billiken Club, Matthews has excited other bands, and gained a significant fan base. His sound projects that of an older time, when music was the pinnacle of experience and art. With roots tied in folk music and 60's and 70's rock n' roll, Matthews has created a unique sound, combined with powerful vocals and smart song writing. In addition to his first album, One, Matthews has written over 150 songs that make his repertoire larger than most bands. His music is a hit with all age groups and is gaining some well deserved attention.
Winning MTVu's "Best Music On Campus" contest, Matthews won an opening slot in their 2007 Best Music on Campus Invasion Tour in Austin, Texas. There, he opened for chart topping bands such as The Shins, The Academy Is..., Shiny Toy Guns, and The Rapture. He was also chosen by MTVU to headline a St. Louis "Night on the Landing" venue at the 2008 NACA National Convention.
